Chemistry Department at Taibah University Holds the First Seminar of Chemistry

Under His Excellency the Rector of Taibah University Dr. Adnan Al Mazrooa, Taibah University represented in the Faculty of Science held today Wednesday 14/6/1434 A.H. the first seminar of chemistry entitled “ The Latest Developments in Chemistry” at the hall of the Information Technology Center in which a number of distinct scientists in educational and industrial fields lectured. The seminar began with an opening speech delivered by His Excellency the Rector of University Dr.Adnan Bin Abdullah Al Mazrooa, saying we are pleased by holding the first important scientific event in the aftermath of launching “ Pledge” project and we seek the permanence of these scientific activities which are beneficial to the University in general and students in particular.
Then, the Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Muhammad Bin Salem Saman delivered a welcoming speech, thanking His Excellency the Rector of University for sponsoring the seminar.
Afterwards, the Head of Chemistry Department at the Faculty of Science at University Dr.Ali Bin Falah Al Ghamdi, the Chairman of the Seminar’s Organizing Committee delivered a speech welcoming guests, saying we are proud and pleased to organize this scientific seminar; the first chemistry seminar, and we are highly proud and honored that it gathered an elite of chemistry scientists at the brotherly Saudi Universities. As well, we are pleased to welcome the member of the Board of Directors of Saudi Chemical Society Mr. Faisal Bin Salem Al Qate’ey; this society which provides much for Chemistry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Subsequently, the seminar’s first events launched with a lecture given by the Associate Professor Muhammad Adawy from KAUST University entitled “ Organic Metal Frames as Designing Strategies”. This has been followed by a lecture by  Professor Abdullah Asery, the Head of Chemistry Department at King Abdul Aziz University, gave a lecture on the formation and using chromatic compounds and glass for smart transformation of solar energy and controlling daylight at building. Then, the member of the Board of Directors of Saudi Chemical Society Mr. Faisal Bin Salem Al Qate’ey delivered a speech on the Society in which he identified its goals and enlisted some of its accomplishments and referred to the goals and ambitions of the Society to resume after it the seminar events with a lecture by Dr. Muhammad Naser Al Ghamdi from the Mechanical Engineering Department at Yanbu Industrial College on Polymer Matrix Compounds , while the last event of the seminar was a lecture entitled Active Electric Polymer Films : the smart materials that can simulate nose, muscles, and nerves delivered by Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud from Chemistry Department at Taibah University. Then, the seminar events have been concluded an open discussion forum and providing recommendations. Then, the Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Muhammad Bin Salem Salman and the Prof. Dr.Ali Bin Falah Al Ghadmi embarked on honoring all the chemistry scientists participating in the seminar and honoring the members of the Organizing Committee.
