Qur’anic Studies at Taibah University Received a Delegation of its Counterpart at Taif University
and Discussed Joint Cooperation Means
 

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Taibah University represented in the Qur’anic Studies Department hosted its counterpart from Taif University today morning Wednesday 21/6/1434 A.H. at the Faculty of Arts at Taibah University to discuss the means and frameworks of joint cooperation between the two Departments. The Dean of Faculty of Arts at Taibah University Prof.Dr. Abdullah Demfu, Head of Qur’anic Studies Department at the Faculty of Arts Dr. Abdul Rahman, his deputy Dr. Abdul Hafiz Muhammad Omar, and a number of the Department affiliates were at the forefront of receivers. While the visiting delegation included a number of Faculty Members led by Dr. Abdullah Al Qurashy, Faculty Member at Taif University, Dr. Mahmoud Shams, Faculty Member at Taif University, in addition to a number of the affiliates of Qur’anic Studies Department at Taif Department accompanies by a group of the Department students.
The meeting started with a speech delivered by the Dean of Faculty of Arts Prof.Dr. Abdullah Demfu, stating: I welcome the brotherly colleagues, Faculty Members, and students from Taif University and welcome at Taibah University and we thank you for this initiative. Then, Prof.Dr. Demfu presented a historical statement of the most salient growth and development phases of Taibah University. Subsequently, the Qur’anic Studies Department, its programs, actions, and activities have been highlighted.
Afterwards, the Qur’anic Studies Head at the Faculty of Arts at Taibah University Dr. Ahmad Abdul Rahman delivered a speech in which he talked about the history of the Faculty and identified its goals. Then, he provided a sequence of the most prominent developments achieved in the Department and said: We are proud that we have graduated students who became distinct instructors in the Kingdom’s diverse Universities, indicating that since the foundation of Islamic Studies Department in 1428 A.H., then graduating two classes of M.A. phase.
Subsequently, Prof.Dr. As Salem Muhammad Ash Shenqety, the Faculty Member at the Qur’anic Studies Department at Taibah University talked about the history of Department since its emergence in the past at the Faculty of Education before being annexed to Taibah University and up to the present. As well, he provided a detailed account of the most salient goals and ambitions, pinpointing that the Department seeks in the near future to provide PhD program in Qur’anic studies.
Afterwards, the guests posed a number of questions related to the Department and its courses, and the Faculty Members of the Department answered these questions and clarifying points. As well, the guests discussed a number of administrative and executive procedures followed at the Qur’anic Studies Department at Taibah University, in addition to means of joint cooperation between the two Departments.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the guests delivered thanking speech delivered on behalf of them by Dr. Abdullah Al Qurashy, Faculty Member at Taibah University, praising this hospitality, and concisely identified the most remarkable phases which Qur’anic Qiraat at Taif University, indicating that the Higher Studies Programs at Taif University are at its final stages to obtain accreditation.
After the meeting, the guests visited the Qur’anic Qiraat Chair at Taibah University where they identified and were familiar with its activities and works.
