Launch of the “Seha Thon 3” Initiative at Taibah University

Taibah University launched the “Seha Thon 3” Challenge, a health innovation hackathon during the Hajj season, organized jointly by the Ministry of Health and Taibah University in partnership with Wadi Taibah and the Medina Health Cluster. The initiative aims to transform creative ideas into innovative solutions that serve the pilgrims.

Held from May 18 to 21, the initiative seeks to improve the quality of healthcare services provided to pilgrims, address health challenges through creative and sustainable approaches, and promote a culture of innovation among participants and healthcare entities.

The initiative includes four tracks:

  1. Sustainable Health: Focuses on developing innovative medical care solutions that consider environmental and natural resources, contributing to the sustainability of healthcare services for future generations.

  2. Climate Change: Aims to create innovative healthcare solutions that adapt to climate fluctuations, rising temperatures, and air pollution, ensuring pilgrims’ safety under harsh environmental conditions while minimizing the environmental impact of provided healthcare services.

  3. Health Equity: Focuses on providing innovative healthcare services accessible to all pilgrims without discrimination, considering differences in health, cultural, and linguistic needs. The goal is to ensure equal health opportunities and inclusive access to healthcare for everyone.

  4. Emergency Response: Aims to deliver smart and rapid technologies to handle health crises and emergencies, ensuring swift response and quality healthcare in critical situations, enhancing the health system’s capacity to manage emergencies during Hajj.
