First: Evaluation and Selection Criteria for the First Award Category — Research Quality Award

Points for the award are calculated according to the following criteria:

No. Criterion Criterion Description Points Awarded per Research Output / Achievement Maximum Points
1 Journal Classification Publication in peer-reviewed or indexed scientific journals with an impact factor Q1 = 5 points; Q2 = 4 points; Q3 = 3 points; Q4 = 2 points; journals indexed in Arcif and Saqr = 1 point 50
2 Research Collaboration with Distinguished Universities Institutional partnerships with internationally ranked universities and research centers Top 100 universities = 5 points; Top 101–200 universities = 4 points; Top 201–400 universities = 2 points 10
3 Research Leadership Research papers published by the applicant as first author or corresponding author 2 points per paper 10
4 Scientific Impact Number of scientific citations for all submitted research papers Calculated based on the h-index and total number of citations 20
5 Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights Promoting a culture of innovation and protecting intellectual property 5 points for each granted patent 5
6 Documentation of Scientific Outputs Commitment to documenting all scientific outputs on official platforms Documentation on the university portal + three other research platforms, such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and ORCID = 5 points; outdated data = 0 5
  Total Points     50

The submitted research must be published in a journal with an Impact Factor classified as Q1 or Q2 within the Web of Science databases.
