This course provides an overview of the historical development of textile decoration and design. It examines pattern repeats, visual attraction and repulsion in textile compositions, different types of textile designs, and methods of arranging decorative motifs. Particular emphasis is placed on motifs used in traditional Saudi textiles. Students are trained to use specialized design software to develop their own textile designs.
