This course introduces students to the fundamental skills of architectural and engineering drawing using standard drafting instruments. It emphasizes the importance of precision, accuracy, and quality in technical drawings while developing visual perception and observational skills. The course covers orthographic projection, dimensioning conventions, and the analysis of objects into basic geometric lines and forms that can be graphically represented. Students learn the principles of drawing architectural and engineering sections, as well as the interpretation and production of various views and projections of objects. The course also develops proficiency in inking techniques and the use of architectural symbols and terminology for the effective presentation and completion of architectural drawing sheets.
