Research Interest

Developing technologies and knowledge to provide a predictive framework for plant breeding strategies to produce high-yielding, environmentally and biotic stress-resistant varieties. Date palm is one of the most tolerant plants to harsh environments. Understanding genetically and molecularly how palms tolerate harsh environments could lead to the development of new technologies to address climate change for other important crops such as wheat. My belief in the importance of sustainable agriculture has led me to be interested in studying biotic and abiotic stresses at the molecular level for important plants in arid and semi-arid lands.
