Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mahmoud Elmezain was born in Egypt. From 1997 to 2004, he worked as a demonstrator in the Department of Statistics and Computer Science at Tanta University, Egypt. He received his M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Helwan University, Egypt, in 2004. He then pursued his doctoral studies in Germany and was awarded the Ph.D. degree (Dr.-Ing.) in Computer Science from the Institute for Electronics, Signal Processing, and Communications at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
