Research Interest

Research interests center on nutritional epidemiology, with a particular emphasis on understanding the relationships between dietary patterns, nutritional exposures, and health outcomes. Key areas of focus include dietary quality, free sugar consumption, and dietary behaviors among the Saudi population, particularly in relation to risk factors for chronic diseases.

Another area of research involves nutritional health among individuals with disabilities, with an emphasis on assessing nutritional status, identifying feeding difficulties, and investigating factors contributing to nutritional challenges.

A complementary research focus is the development and validation of nutritional assessment tools, including the evaluation of their validity, reliability, and psychometric properties to improve measurement accuracy and strengthen the methodological rigor of nutrition research.

The overarching goal is to advance evidence-based nutritional research that informs effective interventions, supports chronic disease prevention, and contributes to improved public health outcomes.
